Military Actions Justification

As a Vietnam Veteran I’ve observed that our government neither thinks ahead nor learns from their past mistakes. The one question that Congress and the President needs to justify is: “Does the Causalities of our conflicts justify the Mission? If the answer is “NO” and they can’t look the American People in the eye and answer “Yes”, then the mission is a failure and smart leaders would get out of the situation! Our children are not your political pawns! World War II’s answer was “YES”, Vietnam’s was “NO”! The conflicts since are questionable at best, same as our leadership! Congress, the President and our military leaders have a moral obligation to the American People to answer this question on every mission before our troops are deployed. The all-volunteer military is not a large enough force to police the whole world. If policing the whole world is your mission, you need to bring back the draft! Sending the same military troops to the same combat zones time after time is poor judgement for any military leader. It shows a callus attitude and total disregard for our military troops. Combat Zones need a limit for our troops. I suggest one tour of combat per enlistment and one volunteer tour if the young man or woman insists. Any combat zone structure that adds combat tour after combat tour is a automatic Death Sentence for the military young man or woman deployed using the Laws of Averages. If our government insists on policing the world, then, the sons and daughters of Congress must participate to validate the government’s commitment to action!
The question remains: “Do the Causalities of our current conflicts justify the mission?” I say not!  This blog is the opinion of one Vietnam Veteran and does not reflect the opinion of the VFW3225 or AFA 110! However:  It is Noteworthy! Protect our troops at all costs, they are the insurance of our Freedom and  Democracy!  By  falcon91847   2012-0210
